March 2017

Dear Friend of our Foundation:

We may have spoken too soon in our last update about seeing signs of spring; Old Man Winter doesn't seem quite ready to release his grip on our area. But, it won't be long.

As we wait for Spring, we are working on 'growing' Henry's List by expanding both our network of Henry's (those that we help to benefit) and Tim's (those that help provide and deliver the items needed). At this writing we've been contacted by two additional care organizations in the Pittsburgh area - from referrals - that will allow us to continue to provide for those that need just a bit more help. More to come as these relationships expand.

We continue to see the need for beds and dressers by those in our local communities. Whether it's an unexpected increase in the household size, an event that has chased a family from their home or simply the need to replace worn out items - these items are perpetually on our list. Please email us (info@emmamunsonfoundation.com) if you can help meet the needs in our area.

We're also working to schedule more Night Out With A Purpose evenings and can use a few volunteers to help at some upcoming events. Please drop us a line if you'd like to do some good and then enjoy a social hour with others that are interested in showing their kids how to help others by example.

For now, we're still building but want to keep you updated on how we're working to make a difference by the actions of our foundation. We are glad to have you along for the ride.

Much Love to you all!
Denise & Michael Munson
People who will not sustain trees will soon live in a world which cannot sustain people.

For what would have been Emma's 21st birthday we helped launch an incredible project as part of Emma's Project Earth where a group of amazing people across the world planted trees in her honor. While we knew we wanted to do something special, we had no idea how amazing this experience would be. You can check out the location of the trees below.

To keep this spirit alive, our foundation has vowed to plant a tree for each donation that we receive as a way to take part of the love given and give it back to Mother Earth. This past week we've completed our quarterly planting with the help of ReTree International, and we hope to plant locally this summer once the weather permits.

With the upcoming 'planting season', we felt it appropriate to help the Rodale Institute in their mission to help improve 'the health and well-being of people and the planet.' Those of you that knew Emma could see her connection to her Mother Earth and deep desire to help reduce her impact on the land. She had interest in organic farming and helped lead our family towards a more active composting culture. Rodale Institute is located in Pennsylvania and has existed since 1947 when their motto was chalked onto a blackboard.

We love their simple message and hope you'll read more about them at the below link.

While we are working to build this program, please know that beds and dressers always seem to be in need. If you have one or more that you are no longer using, please contact us and we'll work to help place these items with a family in need.
